This July 4th Weekend is special for the most of us. This day reminds us of how lucky we are as people. The Freedom that we all are enjoying is a privilege fought over by those who have come before us. The list is endless if we try to put down in writing the benefits that we are afforded by this privilege. Freedom is a "commodity" in some parts of the world. Here, we are free, we are one, and we are truly blessed!

It is in the occasion of July 4th 2010 that I announce that "Productivity & GTD Hacks Blog" is moving to its NEW HOME! There are many reasons that affected this decision. Here are some:

A New Inspiration

The Visitors of this blog might have noticed the orange badge on the top right hand side of this blog. I am humbled by this honor granted to me by including me in the circle of successful bloggers in the Productivity niche. My blog, Productivity and GTD Hacks Blog, has been chosen by Evan Carmichael as one of the Top 50 Productivity Blogs To Watch in 2010 (#12).

Update: The list is now updated with the new info: ProductivityBits.com is listed!

Blogging Convenience

Blogging frequently on a FREE platform, Weebly, has become cumbersome. I have to do lots of manual work when posting even a single article. I am doing lots of manual work in attaching photos, "archiving", listing, etc. This is anti-productive, to say the least.

Moving To Commercial Host

I am moving this blog to a paid host (BlueHost). Yes, I have to shell out some dollars but I am just hoping it will payoff in the long run. I have also registered a new domain name for this blog: productivitybits.com, which is appropriate because it matches the general theme of my blog. Instead of the blog title "Productivity and GTD Hacks Blog", I am changing it to "Productivity Bits" to maintain consistency.

Wordpress 3.0

The latest version of Wordpress is so robust! The features are so great it makes blogging a lot easier.

Passion To Blog To Pro-Blogger

I am now finally out in a voyage I have been meaning to do for years! My real start in blogging was in January 2008 with my SQL Server Blog. But I am looking into this part of professional blogging. So, I started blogging at smartchoiceva.com around May 2010 (couple of months ago) as an experiment. I am really surprised by the results. Here is another reason: My bachelor's degree was in Philosophy and Mass Communication. But I am earning my daily bread in the technology field (I am working full-time for an aerospace company). This endeavor, I hope, will give me back the opportunity to do what I used to love doing - Wondering about the universe. Of course, I have to zoom in in a niche that I love the most; and that is "Productivity and GTD Hacks Blog"

Small Business Online, Interview Hack & iPhone 4 Rant
Weekend List: Blog Posts Of The Week
Post written by Marlon Ribunal.
Follow me on twitter.

Here are some of the blog posts that interest me most this weekend:

The Absolute Beginner’s Guide To Starting A Small Online Business - This post pulls us back to fundamentals of starting a small online business. The article does not focus on one particular business niche, but on online business in general. Best tip in the article: Focus On What's Important.

How to Shine in a Job Interview - This lists the fundamental 9 ways to give a naturally confident interview that really allows you to shine. Take control in your interview. Don't dress a cow in a duck costume. No non-sense tips to excel in your next interview.

5 More Extraordinary Ways To Travel Like A Minimalist - Tips and tricks on light travelling. One of the best item in the list is using USB Rechargeable Electronics. Some modern gadgets are rechargeable via USB. Having this kind of electronics are really convenient. Work on your laptop while charging your phone or mp3 player.

And, I just have to throw this on my list. Yeah, I wrote it and still I read it all over again:

Why I don't Own An iPhone - There's a hype on the newest tool. The trend is that the more we advance in communication technology the further we fall back on the communication essentials. Is human connection now becoming irrelevant?

There goes the list. Sure, I've read more blog posts this week but only the above listed posts really made the cut. What is the most interesting blog post or posts you've encountered this week?
